2007-08 Program Highlights

• All art students are now aware of and continue to put to use the elements and principles of design through hands-on participation with such mediums as watercolor, collage, and tempera.
  
  
• Students have studied the life and times of many famous artists such as Van Gogh, Jasper Johns, Georgia O'Keefe, and Andy Warhol, to name a few. Every student continues to create artwork inspired by such artists and we are constantly searching for and using wall space throughout our school for display of our talented students' works of art, including the classroom, the office, and the library.
  
  
• We all appreciate the accolades that we do receive and are working on the goal of entering art in the California Coastal Art and Poetry Contest at the end of this month.
  
  
• We are also making great strides towards the completion of our new pottery studio. The kiln is in place and the clay has been delivered. Arrangement of the work area is now in progress and students are looking forward to the opportunity to express themselves 3-dimensionally in clay very soon.
  
  
• Our elementary school students participate in Art instruction through the after school program. The instructor is provided by the Borrego Art Institute.
