The arts are alive and thriving in the Encinitas Union School District thanks to arts grants, our ongoing community arts partnerships, the talented, dedicated classroom teachers, arts consultants and the strong commitment to the arts by our Administrators and supportive School Board. Encinitas Union School District is a founding member of the San Diego Arts Network and the California Department of Education's Model Arts Program Network.
2009 - 2010 Arts Program Highlights:

VAPA Cohorts- Act 1 and Act 2: Selected cadre of classroom teachers across the district who meet monthly to receive in-depth training in the arts. Act 1 group also receiving training in Garage Band, podcasting in the arts and 18 weeks with 3 SUAVE Art Coaches. Act 2 group receives training in the art of animation, the Playwrights Project and World Drumming.

chorus and dance consultants at several school sites

District band program, Artistry in Music, offers Beginning and Intermediate levels, Jazz Band and a strings program. Winter and spring evening performances are open to the community and held at La Costa Canyon High school's Performing Arts Center.
- all 2nd grade classes across the district receive 6 visits with the Lux Art Institute's Valise Project
- 3rd and 4th grade classes visit the Cannon Art Gallery's 3-Part Art Program, 2-3 times per year
- Guitars in the Classroom program provides guitar instruction (and guitars) for classroom teachers
- Coastal Communities Concert Band provides "Band Day" at all schools for all 3rd grade classes to experience band instruments
- Native American Flute program for all third graders across the district
- BTSA teachers receive monthly arts training provided by the district Vapa Coordinator
