2009-10 Program Highlights

1) Staff in second year of participation in the "Far East Cadre", reviewing
VAPA strands to enhance knowledge of Visual and performing arts standards
and their application, and integration of arts standards with the other core
curricula

2) Participation DREAM grant workshop integrating visual and performing arts
activities to improve teaching and learning of language arts standards, held
through Cal State San Marcos

3) Music, rhythm and movement instruction once per week, including recorder,
LUMMI sticks, and dance standards

4) Art instruction, tied to music and dance

5) Annual Shakespeare production (14 years), includes dinner theatre
fundraising event

6) Old Globe Theatre Education Department ties and Balboa Park Shakespeare
Festival participation

7) Quality arts experiences: Paul Taylor Dance and San Diego Symphony

8) Member of the San Diego Arts Network since 2001!
